TRAPSHOOTING INSTRUCTOR COURSE – 2 DAY COURSE

THE SCTA BOARD RECOGNISES THAT DTL SHOOTING IS THE MAIN FORM OF CLAY SHOOTING IN MANY PARTS OF SCOTLAND. THE CURRENT “CORPORATE INSTRUCTOR” COURSE, WHILST BEING VERY SUITABLE FOR WHAT IT IS DESIGNED TO DO, DOES NOT ADDRESS TRAPSHOOTING . THUS, EARLY NEXT YEAR, 2020, WE WILL RUN THE INAUGRAL TRAPSHOOTING INSTRUCTOR COURSE. THE VENUE AND DATES HAVE YET TO BE AGREED.

THEREFORE, TO MAKE PROGRESS, WE SEEK APPLICATIONS FROM INTERESTED PARTIES WHO HAVE THE DESIRE, AND EXPERIENCE, TO HELP NEW SHOOTERS, AND THOSE IN THE LOWER COMPETITION CLASSES, MAKE IMPROVEMENTS TO THEIR SKILL LEVELS. THE GOAL IS TO GET THE SHOOTERS BETTER, QUICKER, THUS ENCOURAGING THEM TO ENTER INTERNATIONAL SELECTION SHOOTS WITH CONFIDENCE THAT THEY CAN DO WELL AND START TO CHASE FOR TEAM PLACES.

A MAXIMUM OF EIGHT CANDIDATES MAY ATTEND. THESE CANDIDATES SHOULD HAVE ACHIEVED AA CLASS IN DTL, OR AN INTERNATIONAL PLACE IN ANY OF THE OTHER TRAP DISCIPLINES. THERE WILL ALSO BE A REQUIREMENT TO RUN A MINIMUM OF FOUR TRAINING SESSIONS IN THE YEAR.

THE COURSE WILL BE FREE. THE BOARD RECOGNISES THE IMPORTANCE OF THIS INITIATIVE AND THERE WILL NOT BE ANY FEE PAYABLE ON THIS FIRST OCCASION. ANY INDIVIDUAL FOOD AND ACCOMMODATION COSTS WILL HAVE TO BE BORNE BY THE ATTENDEE.
